There
are countries that have close and are bound to us historically, of
which at present we are as isolated, we have no references to them,
although their populations are our Caribbean brothers
Jamaica
is the case where a situation of extreme poverty afflicts its
inhabitants, especially the children that there is very large and
important, even for the wide exploitation of child labor

By having a large population of children of poverty and social problems in children is widespread especially in rural areas.

Thousands of children live on the streets and work to survive, abuse and violence is quite common, there is a high level of illiteracy, high rates of teenage pregnancy and child are also one of the groups most affected by AIDS and that 8% of those infected are children, who were infected through their mothers, this represents some 4500 children under 10 years.

On the other hand there are also thousands of institutionalized children who were abandoned or lost their family.
These data are of great concern because children are the future of a country and the same can not improve or progress if there is such poor disatention the weakest group in a community.
UNICEF and other NGOs are trying to help improve and reverse the plight of children in Jamaica and work in the human development of the poorest communities.
Should take various measures to protect children and adolescents to stop experiencing poverty and social exclusion and instead have access to opportunities for education, play and enjoy their childhood, and power away from violence, crime, alcoholism, drugs, prostitution, work and everything that is harmful to children.
Many children who live a harsh reality in this country, but can be reversed, with solidarity and support can give hope of a better life.
It is essential that children are the priority for the authorities and develop public policies efectivas. That children are the least likely to enforce their rights by itself, it is the duty of adults to help improve.
